Journey Journal

Designed to help young people discover what matters and shape their own path.

A Collaboration with One Goal in Mind

Sport in Mind and Play Their Way have teamed up to create the Journey Journal – a practical tool designed to help coaches support the children and young people they work with.

This journal encourages young people to reflect on their goals, track their progress, and understand how physical activity can influence their mood. By blending Sport in Mind’s wellbeing expertise with Play Their Way’s coaching insight, we’ve created a resource that supports more meaningful, youth‑centred conversations.

Co‑Designed with Young People

As we're truly child-first we made sure that the Journey Journal truly meets the needs of those who will use it, we invited young people to take part in the creative process.

How Coaches Can Use the Journal

Coaches can download and print the journal to use during sessions or one‑to‑ones. It helps young people:

  • Think about what they want from their sport or activity
  • Set personal goals
  • Reflect on how movement affects their mood
  • Build confidence through tracking small wins
  • Develop greater awareness of their own wellbeing

It’s a simple, flexible tool that can support ongoing conversations and help coaches tailor their approach to each young person’s needs.
